KES holds spelling bee

Fifth-grade student Pedro Mojica Manuel recently won the Kenbridge Elementary School Spelling Bee. The local spelling bee is sponsored by the Richmond Times-Dispatch and is a preliminary round for the Scripps National Spelling Bee held in Washington, D.C. Lydia Anderson, a second-grade student at KES, was the runner-up. The purpose of the Scripps National Spelling Bee is to help students improve their spelling, increase their vocabularies, learn concepts and develop correct English usage that will help them all their lives.
