Kenbridge Town Council honored former member Tom Palmore for his years of service over two decades with a resolution during its August meeting.
Palmore served on council from Sept. 1, 1990 through June 30, 1996, and July 1, 2004 through June 30, 2016, even serving as vice mayor in 2005.
“Thomas A. Palmore always considered the best interest of the town citizens in all votes and actions he took while serving on council,” Mayor Emory Hodges said, reading the resolution at the beginning of the meeting. “Palmore is always a positive promoter of Kenbridge and always shows a strong interest in moving the town forward in all that he does, and is held in very high esteem by his fellow council members, the mayor, town staff, as well as our citizens.”
The resolution credits Palmore as serving with distinction on many committees, most notably the finance committee, police committee and personnel committee.
The resolution is adopted “to recognize, honor, and thank … Palmore for the highly commendable job he did while serving on the Kenbridge Town Council and wish for him many healthy and happy years in retirement from the council.”
Besides a copy of the resolution being presented to Palmore, it will be made part of the town council minutes and is published in The K-V Dispatch today.
