The Central High School varsity girls basketball team used a big third quarter to coast to a 40-22 victory over visiting Goochland High School on Dec. 4.

Leading 18-11 at halftime, the Lady Chargers outscored the Lady Bulldogs 14-6 in the third and 8-5 in the fourth.

Senior guard TanJaNeKa White-Freeman led Central with 12 points and four steals. Senior forward/guard Dominique Turman-Watson added nine points, 11 rebounds, a team-high four assists and three steals. Senior forward Ashley Genova led the team with 18 rebounds to go with six points, and senior center/forward Bri’Anna Johnson contributed nine points and eight boards.

The Lady Chargers (5-2) host Prince Edward County High School on Friday at 7 p.m.
