On Friday, May 12, Southside Electric Cooperative (SEC) will host its third annual Opportunity Fund Golf Classic at The Manor Golf Club in Farmville.
The tournament supports scholarships for students whose parents or legal guardians are served by SEC, according to a press release.
“In 2016, the Southside Opportunity Fund was created and earned a 501(c)3 designation.
Last year’s golf event raised more than $14,000,” organizers said in the release. “This year, the fund will continue to award $1,000 scholarships to local high school seniors. Registration for the captain’s choice tournament will run from 8:45-9:45 a.m., with a 10 a.m. shotgun start. A foursome package includes carts, range balls and a boxed lunch with three drink tickets per golfer, all for $400. Sponsorship packages are also available.”
