Going for the gold

The Special Olympics inaugural golf tournament for the Blackstone Chapter was held at the Victoria Golf Course. Trey Barksdale and his dad, Ricky, tied for first place with Johnny Ferrel and Jeff Stimpson with a score of 33. Keith Joyner and his dad, John Jr., shot a 34 on nine holes. Roger Johnson and his coach Avery Chestnut finished with a score of 36. Thomas Hudgins and his father Will, scored a 40. Closest to the hole was Johnny Farrell and Trey Barksdale won a prize for the longest putt. Each Olympic golfer was given a bag of golf balls and were presented with a trophy.
