A joint session between the Lunenburg County Board of Supervisors and the Kenbridge Town Council is set to discuss the disposition of county property, according to a meeting agenda provided by the county.
The agenda for the Thursday meeting, which will begin at 6 p.m., cites that there will be a “joint session regarding disposition of Lunenburg Commercentre jointly-held real property.”
According to Deputy County Administrator Nicole Clark and the meeting board packet, the property in question concerns the Lunenburg Commercentre, which is owned by both Lunenburg County and the Town of Kenbridge.
According to a copy of the purchase and sale agreement included in the meeting board packet, the agreement concerning the Lunenburg Commercentre purchase will be between Global Refining Group, LLC, located in the Town of Kenbridge, and the Industrial Development Authority, of Lunenburg County.
Clark said that Global is hoping to purchase parcels of property within the Commercentre, and the agreement cites that the Commercentre property parcels contain a total of 26.71 acres of property. The purchase price for the property, according to the agreement, is $700,000.
Clark said the Commercentre property is located at the edge of the town on the intersection of Route 40 and Hickory Road.
The Thursday meeting will take place in the Lunenburg County courthouse.
