Students with the Lunenburg Head Start program took part in its inaugural spring dance Friday evening at the Victoria-Lunenburg Community Center at 1421 Sixth St. from 6-8 p.m. During the event, students in their best dresses and suits got face painting, played games, ate delicious treats and was delighted by Rudy the Clown. The event, Organizer Tracy Boise said Friday, had a carnival theme. Students with Central High School also volunteered by helping students with the games and helping with face painting. Boise said the Lunenburg Head Start enrolls approximately 36 students both in its Head Start and Early Head Start programs. She said the spring dance was meant to be fun for the students and their families. “We’re hoping it’s going to be a very nice event,” Boise said.
