The Dixie Youth Baseball District 5 double-elimination tournaments for Instructional all-stars and Major League all-stars, held in Victoria, included a rout and a weather-delayed game for competing Lunenburg County Youth Baseball League (LCYBL) teams.

The LCYBL Majors All-Stars had not gotten far into their evening contest against the Charlotte County All-Star team before lightning and an approaching thunderstorm ended the night’s action. With the score still 0-0, the teams will resume play Saturday at 3 p.m. at Lenhart Field.

Earlier in the evening right next door at Neblett Field, the LCYBL Instructional All-Stars were dominant in a showdown with the Crewe-Burkeville All-Star squad, walking away with a 14-1 victory in a mercy rule-shortened contest. The Lunenburg team will return to action Sunday at 7 p.m. against the Blackstone All-Stars.
