Rosewood Cafe and Tea Room, located at 11426 Courthouse Road, held a grand opening Saturday morning. The cafe and tearoom offered free in-house coffee and cookies in the morning, in addition to half-price waffles and 50-cent ice cream cones throughout the day. The Lunenburg Chamber of Commerce, the Richmond Rose Society and members of the community participated in the grand opening and ribbon cutting. Rosewood held a soft opening in May. Pat Israel, chair of the chamber’s welcome committee, spoke about the impact Rosewood has already created in the community and praised its future endeavors. “The more I find out about Rosewood and its delightful staff, the more I like it,” Israel said. “Its genuine British charm combines with great Southern hospitality, and of course its country setting is lovely. They are already planning to offer fine dining occasions, and to revive the historic tavern once located in the English basement. The food is imaginative and delicious, the focus is clearly on the customer, the surroundings are gracious. Lucky Lunenburg, to have this new business.”
