T. Wayne Hoover, who supervises the Plymouth District with the Lunenburg County Board of Supervisors, was recently promoted to the role of Deputy Chief at Colonial Heights Fire, EMS & Emergency Management.

According to an announcement from the department, Hoover has been with the department for 25 years.

“He was promoted to the rank of Battalion Chief in July of 1996 serving as one of the operational shift command officers,” the release cited. “He has also served as the Deputy Emergency Management Coordinator and played a major role in the department’s preparation and response to disasters. Please join us in congratulating Chief Hoover on his promotion.” Hoover said he had been a National Registered Paramedic since 1993 and is a life member with Victoria Fire & Rescue, having first joined in 1984.

Hoover said the promotion should not interfere with his post with the Board of Supervisors.
