The Victoria Town Council held a public hearing Dec. 11 concerning two proposed portions of town roads to be abandoned. Town Manager Rodney Newton said no action would be taken on the proposed abandonments until the council’s January meeting.
According to a public notice of the hearing, the proposed portions up for discussion included an unopened portion of 11th Street, at the intersection with Main Street. The second portion is located at Jefferson Avenue, at an intersection with Fourth Street.
An unopened street or street portion was a street planned in the original plat of the town but never opened.
Newton said no action was taken by members of the council Dec. 11 as the state law would set that process. He said the earliest any action would be taken is during the council’s January meeting.
