In a letter to parents Wednesday afternoon, Lunenburg Middle School (LMS) administration cited that the school was placed on lockdown after administration was notified of a suspected gun on campus.
The letter cited that the Lunenburg County Public Schools (LCPS) Superintendent, Lunenburg County Sheriff’s Office and LMS administration investigated the incident, but determined that the report of a gun on campus was unfounded.
“Please have a discussion with your children about the importance of reporting any suspected safety concerns immediately to the administration of the school so that we may respond as quickly as possible,” LMS Principal Mary Ann Crowder said in the letter.
The letter cited that those with questions can contact school administration.
“Know that your children’s safety is our highest concern,” Crowder said in the letter.
