Kalijuan DeLewis “Goonga” Andrews was born on March 19, 1994 in South Hill, Virginia to Gregory Andrews and Melvina Hayes.
He was educated in Lunenburg County Public Schools. Kalijuan was a dedicated father and son. He loved fishing, dancing, playing drums, and watching the Dallas Cowboys.
Kalijuan gained his heavenly wings on Friday, January 3 at UVA Medical Center in Charlottesville, VA. He is preceded in death by his sister, Destiny Hayes; both grandfathers: Melvin Hayes and Harry Lewis Andrews; two aunts: Viola Lambert and Shaun Andrews; one uncle: Vincent Hayes; devoted cousin, Layvon Andrews.
His beautiful life will forever be cherished in the lives of his children: Aiden (son, age 6) and Little Destiny (daughter, age 1); parents, Gregory and Melvina; a brother, Ryiqual Beasley and sister, Alexis Lawrence; both grandmothers, Edith Hayes and Georgia Andrews; seven aunts, Pamela Nelson, Paula Andrews, Thelma Fuller (William), Theresa Freeman (John), Annie Fuller (Ralph), Doris Hayes, and Alma Mayo; six uncles, Raymond, Ray, and James Lambert, Kevin, Kenneth (Mary) and David Hayes; five great-aunts and five great-uncles; two best friends, Jaquan Taylor and Isiah Webb and a host of devoted cousins and friends.
Funeral services were held Friday, January 10, at 1 p.m. at People’s Community Center, Victoria, with the Rev. Paulette Hazelwood, Eulogist. Interment was in the Rhodes Family Cemetery, Kenbridge.
