MARCH 15

LUNENBURG COUNTY HISTORICAL SOCIETY MEETING, 2:00 p.m. at Ripberger Public Library, Kenbridge. Information presented by Jerry Tuttle of the Southern Virginia Food Hub on innovative ways this group promotes farm-to-table food freshness using Southern Virginia-sourced foods.

USHERS SERVICE, 2 p.m. at West Hill Baptist Church of Victoria. The Rev. Jerry Street and Poplar Lawn Baptist Church will be the special guests.

FOURTH ANNIVERSARY, 3 p.m. of the Praise Dance Team of New Bethel at New Bethel Baptist Church, 14167 Farmville Road, Meherrin. There will be a guest choir singing and guest praise dancers in attendance. All are welcome.

MARCH 17

SPECIAL EDUCATION ADVISORY MEETING, 1 p.m. at the School Board Office, 1009 Main St., Kenbridge, in the conference room.

MARCH 18

YOUTH REVIVAL, 7 p.m. at Mt. Bethel Baptist Church beginning with prayer and praise service. There will be different speakers and choirs each night. Everyone is welcome.

MARCH 21

MEETING, 10 a.m. of the Judith Randolph-Longwood Chapter, National Society Daughters of the American Revolution at the Farmville-Prince Edward Library. There will be an awards ceremony followed by a presentation from guest speaker Roma Morris, director of Prince Edward Social Services. The topic of discussion will be, “Empowering People”.

GOSPEL CONCERT, 4 p.m. at Prince Edward County High School hosted by the Kappa Rho Omega Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority. Different groups will be performing. The master of ceremony will be the Rev. Dr. Cavell Phillips, assistant pastor of the Richmond Christian Center and the host of “The Beat” on 106.5. Everyone is welcome. The concert will benefit the Sorority’s Scholarship fund.

MARCH 27-29

MUSICAL, entitled “Annie” in the Central High School (CHS) Gymnasium presented by the Central High School Fine Arts department. Performances will be Friday and Saturday at 7 p.m. with Sunday’s showing at 3 p.m. Tickets can be purchased at the door or in advance at CHS office during school hours.

APRIL 4

SPRING FLING DANCE, 7 p.m.-midnight hosted by the K-V Lions Club at People’s Community Center, 1021 Tidewater Ave., Victoria. Music by Soul Unbound DJ’s. Food and beverage provided. HUGE FLEA MARKET AND CRAFT SALE, 8 a.m.-2 p.m. at Dixie Warehouse, South Hill.

SPRING CLEAN-UP WEEK, in the town of Kenbridge. You can put your trash, brush and other items by the curb and it will be picked up and taken away at no charge. Normally, there is a charge for such services, but during this clean-up period, it’s on the town. Let’s all work together to make our town beautiful.

APRIL 25

TASTE OF THE STATES EVENT, 2 p.m. hosted by Mayflower Baptist Church at the Kenbridge-Victoria Fire and Rescue building for an afternoon of fun, fellowship and great food. Sample dishes from the South Carolina low-country, the Mississippi Delta, the Louisiana Bayou, Tex-Mex, and many other samples. TRUCK AND TRACTOR PULL, 6-11 p.m. at Victoria Railroad Park sponsored by Victoria Fire and Rescue.

JUNE 19-20

FIREFLY FESTIVAL, 9-11 p.m. at High Bridge Trail State Park. Activities, crafts, food vendors and much more. The event will be held rain or shine. Parking fees apply. Parking will be at the Camp Paradise parking area.
