Victoria’s Town Council decided to delay a determination on if or when to open the town’s pool. The council decided to put off the decision at least until the end of May.
The board discussed the pool with Town Manager Rodney Newton during the Tuesday, May 12, town council meeting. Newton told the board that currently, the governor’s restrictions only allow lap swimming in pools. The Victoria pool is not designed for lap swimming.
Newton suggested the town could potentially open the pool later in the year and possibly keep it open past the traditional start of school, if school does not begin on time.
