Blackstone man killed in crash

A Blackstone man was killed Thursday, July 2 after running a stop sign at the intersection of Route 138 and 137 in Lunenburg County.
Clifford N. Taylor, 56, of Blackstone was ejected from the vehicle and died at the scene. A press release from the Virginia State Police said Taylor was not wearing a seat belt.
According to the release, Taylor was driving a 1993 Chevrolet S10 pickup truck west on Route 137 around 2 p.m. when he failed to stop at the stop sign at the intersection with Route 138. A 2011 Chevrolet Silverado 2500, driven by Samuel W. Johnson, 61, of Victoria, was traveling north on Route 137 and collided with the S10 that failed to stop at the stop sign. Johnson was wearing a seat belt.
The accident remains under investigation.
