The Church and Community Events calendar is published each Wednesday. Items must be submitted by 4:30 p.m. on Monday for that Wednesday’s calendar. Email events to communitycalendar@kvdispatch.com. Events that have been confirmed as canceled are noted. Please check with the event before assuming the event is still on.

 

SERVICE BY RADIO, 10 a.m. hosted by Cameron Bailey pastor of Kenbridge Christian Church on 107.1 FM each Sunday from LGS (Lunenburg Girls Softball field) on Maple Street in Kenbridge. The closer to the ballfield, the better the reception.

 

SERVICES, at Mayflower Baptist Church, 3620 Snead Store Road Kenbridge, has canceled all scheduled services for the remainder of 2020 due to the health and safety of everyone with respect to the coronavirus. Regular church services will continue to be held on the second and fourth Sunday in each month at 11:30 until further notice. The food pantry will continue to be held in the church basement on the third Saturday of each month at 1 p.m. For any questions, call (434) 755-7992.

 

JULY 9

COUNTY BOARD OF SUPERVISORS MEETING – The Lunenburg Count Board of Supervisors will hold its regular monthly meeting Thursday, July 9 at 7 p.m. in the General District Courtroom of the Lunenburg County Courthouse. All citizens and guests must adhere to social distancing standards at all times. For any questions about the meeting, call 434-696-2142.

 

JULY 14

VICTORIA TOWN COUNCIL – The July meeting of the Victoria Town Council will be held at the Victoria-Lunenburg Community Centre located at 1421 6th Street at 7 p.m.  There will be a Special Use Permit public hearing for a proposed manufactured home on 3rd Street at the beginning of the meeting.

 

 

JULY 16

LIBRARY REOPENS – The Lunenburg County Public Library System will reopen, with an adjusted schedule Monday, July 16.  The schedule will be Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.  This scheduling will be adjusted with time and favorable conditions. Curbside check-out service will still be available for those who prefer it.  Computer usage will be available but limited.  We ask that patrons observe safety protocols and social distancing.  We ask that visitors wear a mask and limit the length of visit to avoid potential spread of the virus.  If you are sick, please stay home.
