John Clayton Gilley, 46 of Spotsylvania, went to be with his Lord on June 2.

He is survived by his mother, Melba Bishop Gilley of Spotsylvania; his father, Danny Gilley of Ruther Glen and brother, Kyle (Robin) of Spotsylvania.

John graduated in 1995 from Courtland High School in Spotsylvania. John was a specialized custom carpenter that enjoyed his work; he was also a gifted painter and artist in many areas of the arts. John loved people and had a big heart.

The family plans a private service at a later date.
