Residents endure outages

Residents of Lunenburg County are recuperating following power outages over the weekend.

On its Web Outage Viewer as of 10:15 a.m. Sunday, Southside Electric Cooperative was reporting that 120 customers were without power in Lunenburg County.

According to a SEC press release, as of Monday at 4:10 p.m., all known storm-related outages had been restored.

“At the peak of the event, SEC experienced more than 600 outages, causing more than 10,000 members to lose power,” officials said in a release. “Joining SEC’s full-time linemen in the power restoration efforts were three contractor crews and mutual aid crews from neighboring cooperatives.”

SEC customers should call (866) 878-5514 to report an outage.

As of 10:15 a.m. Sunday, Dominion Energy was reporting on its website that 53 of its customers were without power in Lunenburg County.

“Dominion Energy crews continue to restore power as quickly and safely as possible to customers affected by inclement weather that impacted our service territory Friday, Dec. 8,” officials said in a release on Dominion’s website.

According to Dominion’s online outage summary, power has been restored to all residents in Lunenburg County.
