Call a friend

I woke up this morning with my mind on Jesus. I was telling Him how much I love Him and thanking Him for blessing me with such a wonderful family and friends. Then my mind drifted to my friend Nancy. I was wondering if she knew how much I had loved her.
Nancy was a person that spoke her mind and did not mind telling me what she thought about any topic, whether the advice was solicited or unsolicited. There were times when we really argued because we had been friends for over 30 years. She had kept me from making many mistakes and I did the same for her. One of the things about our friendship was at times we both wanted to have our way, but like friends do, we learned how to compromise. Some of my best times involved Nancy. She was such a funny person even when she wasn’t trying to be. When we weren’t fussing, we were laughing and laughing and laughing. I truly loved my friend.
Today I cannot pick up the phone to say I love and miss you because my friend has went home to be with the Lord. There are no more phone calls, no more playing games on the computer and no more laughter, and no more saying, “girl, you know you shouldn’t do that!” My heart aches because I miss her so.
If I had the opportunity I would call my friend right now and tell her how much I miss her and reminisce about the good times we used to have. I would remind her of the day we both had to do a presentation and we were so nervous that we held onto each other for comfort; that was the beginning of our friendship. We knew we could depend on the other no matter what.
Have you called your friend today just to say hello and to let them know that you love and miss them? It doesn’t have to be a long conversation, just let the person know that you care and are thinking about them. Do not put off today for tomorrow because tomorrow may never come and you may miss the chance to say I love and miss you.
Remember, great friends are far and in between. Brighten their day by letting them know that. Be Blessed In Jesus’ Name.
