The Lunenburg County Board of Supervisors will be holding its April meeting at a different time and place.
The meeting will be held Thursday at 10 a.m. at the Central High School (CHS) gymnasium, the meeting board packet noted.
The meeting will be held at the school as a part of the school’s Student Government Day program. The program is for high school seniors who will attend various county and town meetings to observe county or town government in action.
The event is sponsored by the Rotary Club of Lunenburg. Between 30-35 students participated in last year’s Student Government Day program.
During the meeting, a report regarding road conditions in the area of Old Mansion Road, adjacent to the county landfill, is set to take place.
According to a landfill liaison report, dated April 4 by Carl Ashworth included in the meeting board packet, high volumes of mud on Old Mansion Road continues to be a concern both for area citizens, Container First Services (CFS), the company that owns the Lunenburg landfill, and the Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT).
“Muddy road conditions on Old Mansion Road continue to be the dominant issue at the landfill,” the liaison report cited. “VDOT and CFS continue to disagree on this issue and how it is to be handled. VDOT is continuing to work with the Attorney General’s Office to come to a permanent resolution for this matter.”
