Kevin O. Ryals, 36 of Kenbridge, Virginia, passed away on Monday, June 4, 2018. Born in Richmond, he was the son of the late Pastor, Kathleen L. Ryals and the late Jerome O. Rorie. Kevin attended Barber school at Southside Community College and he worked at R-T’s Comb & Shear Shop for many years until his health failed. He had a love for sports and loved helping children. For years he returned to his high school to coach their Youth basketball team, even when he was not feeling well. He IS the meaning of true Charger Pride. He also coached and played for Woo Boswell’s team “Dem boyboyz”. He was a brother, uncle, great-uncle and friend to many. He is survived by his siblings, Theresa M. Ellis, Pamela Ryals, Lakeisha Gardner and Eric Ryals; uncles James Lawyer, James Hazelwood, and Ralph Degroat; aunts Queen L. Robertson, Hattie Mae Lawyer, Susan Martin, Mary J. Martin, and Bettie Hazelwood; nieces – Shakiya R. Jones (Sherman), Kayla Ryals, Ashley Ellis and Rebecca Lynn Ryals; nephews-Darius Moss, Derreck Moss, Lee Rodriguez, Nicholas Ellis and Austin Ellis; great-nieces, Shermiya Jones and Liliana Rockett; great nephews; DayZon Lee, Shakur Jones and O’marian Johnson; special family The Hazelwoods, Jamie Lloyd, Destiny Degroat, Edward (Mane) Fowlkes, Tremaine Fowlkes; special friends Antonios (TJ) Edmonds, James (Woo) Boswell, Thomas (Moe) Morrison, Cavell Johnson, Tiffani Gee, Avis Moore, Jennifer Moore, Vanita (Boobie) Baskerville, Erica (Molly) Gonzales and Kim Burton and many, many other friends, cousins and loved ones.
A memorial service will take place Saturday June 16, 11 a.m. at The Peoples Community Center, 1021 Tidewater Avenue, Victoria.
