The Lunenburg County Youth Baseball League (LCYBL) Machine Pitch All-Star team had an outstanding summer on the diamond, and because of this, the squad was honored by the Lunenburg County Board of Supervisors during the board’s regular meeting Thursday at the Lunenburg County Courthouse. The LCYBL All-Star team finished the summer with an overall record of 13-3. The boys went 5-0 in their way to a Dixie Youth Baseball District 5 Championship, and then they went 5-0 again as they claimed a Dixie Youth Baseball State Championship. They then traveled to Lumberton, North Carolina, where they were one of 12 teams to compete in the Dixie Youth Baseball Machine Pitch World Series. The Lunenburg boys ended up going 3-3 in the tournament, which featured pool play and then narrowed to eight teams in a double-elimination championship bracket. The LCYBL All-Star squad finished third.
