Central High School (CHS) students involved with CHS Cares, led by art instructor and club sponsor Jean Kunath, packed numerous supplies to New Bern, North Carolina to assist those affected by Florence. North and South Carolina have been devastated by flooding and wind damage from the post-cyclone.

Kunath said in an email she and students packed supplies, which included non-perishable food items, water bottles, toiletry items and goody bags into a trailer Monday, where she and her family took them to New Bern Monday night.

“The students worked all day today organizing and boxing the donated items,” Kunath said in an email Monday.

The school received numerous donations for the supplies, including donations from the Lunenburg Rotary Club.
