Chamber call for volunteers

The first Trunk-or-Treat held in Victoria at the Victoria Railroad Park held last year saw a turnout of numerous community members. The annual Trunk-or-Treat in Kenbridge saw similar results.
As Kenbridge and Victoria gear up for their next Trunk-or-Treating events, the Lunenburg County Chamber of Commerce is calling for community volunteers to get involved for the respective events.
Tammy Newcomb, one of two new secretaries at the chamber, said the chamber has not had volunteers sign up to participate in the Trunk-or-Treat events. The events are being organized by the Town of Victoria and the Town of Kenbridge, respectively.
Newcomb said the towns provide the candy, but need volunteers to help distribute candy to participants.
Newcomb will serve as the communications secretary and Glenn Millican will operate as the recording secretary. Both are expected to hold their positions until the last meeting of the year, where the chamber will hold an election for a new secretary.
Millican is also set to be the speaker for the October chamber meeting, set for Oct. 25 at Central Cafe in Victoria.
Outgoing secretary Trudy Berry, who left the secretary post in September, confirmed she will continue to be a chamber member.
