The seventh annual Car Show Off and Cruise In, held Oct. 6 along Court Street in Victoria, brought in a host of neat vintage cars and provided a time for friends and neighbors to come together.
The event, held from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., included door prizes, food and unique to this year, a Remote Control (RC) car drag racing competition.
The show was held by Shade Street Road and Customs in Victoria.
Organizer Mike Prather said almost 90 vehicles attended. The event was open to vehicles from the year 1974 or older.
Prather said there were people from Amelia, Keysville, Halifax, South Hill and Dinwiddie who attended in addition to local residents.
Prather said the event is not a fundraiser for the Multiple Sclerosis (MS) Society, but said there was information pamphlets available about the disease, which his wife suffers from.
MS is a chronic illness of the central nervous system where the immune system attacks the protective lining of nerves in the body.
“We try to bring a little bit of awareness about that,” Prather said.
