The members of Lunenburg County Board of Supervisors will hold their organizational meeting 6 p.m., Thursday, in the General District Courtroom as usual.

Supervisors David Wingold Sr., of District 2; C.R. “Randy” Slayton of District 4; Edward W. Pennington of District 5; and Alvester L. Edmonds of District 6, were all re-elected after running unopposed.

Reorganizational undertakings range from swearing in the re-elected members, to setting the dates and times of meetings, to selecting a new chairman and vice chairman or reelecting the serving chairs.

During the meeting, envoys of Container First Services solid waste disposal company will also be present, and checks representing some of the receipts of the host fees from the company’s operation in the county will be distributed.

“We will be making those presentations to some well deserving organizations,” Supervisor T. Wayne Hoover said.

Based in Petersburg, CFS is a full-scale industrial, commercial, and residential waste and recycling operation that includes among its holdings CFS Disposal and Recycling Services of Lunenburg.

The company provides disposal of the county’s waste at no cost and an economic benefit to Lunenburg through the host fees paid on all waste received at the local facility.
