The National Weather Service (NWS) in Wakefield, which includes Lunenburg County, issued a flood watch beginning 6 p.m. Friday and ending 6 p.m. Saturday.

“Storm total rainfall is expected to range from 1 to 2 inches, with locally higher amounts possible,” the NWS cited. NWS officials added that runoff from rain, in addition to melting snow, could “cause flooding along streams, creeks and eventually rivers, as
well as urban areas.”
