MAY 23

MEETING, 6 p.m. of the Lunenburg County Public Library System, Inc. Board of Trustees at the Ripberger Public Library. This meeting is open to the public.

MASS MEETING, 7 p.m. at First Baptist Church, Farmville hosted by the NAACP and Moton Museum in recognition of the 65th anniversary of Brown v. Board of Education, the 60th anniversary of the closing of Prince Edward Public Schools and the 55th anniversary of Griffin v. County School Board of Prince Edward. Reception will follow in the L. Francis Griffin Fellowship Hall at 9 p.m.

MAY 24

TOUR OF MOTON MUSEUM, 8-10 a.m. followed by a panel discussion: Davis v. County School Board of Prince Edward. Lunch will follow from 12:15- 1:30 p.m. Another panel discussion will take place from 2-4:30 p.m. on the Impact of Brown in the community followed by dinner at Longwood Hall and a discussion on Griffin v. County School Board of Prince Edward.

MAY 25

BREAKFAST AND DISCUSSION, 8 a.m.- noon, at Moton Museum. Panel discussion: Legacy.

MAY 26

WOMEN’S DAY, 11 a.m. at Mt. Bethel Baptist Church. The Rev. Patricia Barnette, Pastor of Tussekiah Baptist Church will be the guest preacher. Also during the service will be Queen for a Day and the Scholarship Ministry Commemoration of the Memorial Day service. All are welcome.

PRE-MEMORIAL DAY SERVICE, 3 p.m. at Oak Grove Baptist Church, Kenbridge. The Rev. James Issac along with the Saint Luke Baptist Church will be in charge of the service. Everyone is welcome.

JUNE 2

PASTOR ANNIVERSARY, 3 p.m. at St. Matthew’s Baptist Church, 219 North Broad St., Kenbridge for their pastor. The Rev. Ray A. Smith and his churches, Unity and Star Light Baptist, will be the guest.

JUNE 3

FAMILY AND FRIENDS DAY, 3 p.m. at Oak Grove Baptist Church, Kenbrige. The Rev. Sharon Baskerville will be the guest speaker. Everyone is welcome.

JUNE 8

YOUTH FUN DAY, 11 a.m-2 p.m. for ages five-12 years of age at Victoria Railroad Park sponsored by the Kenbridge-Victoria Lions Club. There will be hot dogs, snacks and drinks. Call Bonnie at (434) 696-3557 for more information.

JUNE 14

INTRODUCTORY YOGA CLASS, 2:30-3:30 p.m. at the Kenbridge gym. Gentle stretching. Call Debbie at (518) 248-7220 for more information. Classes are free.
