Kenston Forest School’s varsity football team faced its archrival, Brunswick Academy, for the second time this season Friday night, and for the second time, the Kavaliers recorded a blowout victory.

After topping the Vikings 39-0 on Aug. 30 in its home opener, Kenston Forest routed Brunswick Academy 56-14 on the road Friday.

“Our defense stepped up to the plate after tying up with Brunswick Academy in the first quarter,” Kavaliers Head Coach Joseph Kaiser said. “We called a timeout and regrouped and ran away with it from there.”

Junior Quinton Hawkins continues to lead Kenston Forest’s offense, recording seven carries for 56 yards and two touchdowns while also going 2-for-2 passing for 93 yards and two scores.

Junior Moe’Wuante “Moe Moe” Morrison went 3-for-3 passing for 99 yards and three touchdowns and also carried the ball three times for 46 yards. Senior Jah’Tavious Houston had two receptions for 72 yards and two touchdowns to go with six carries for 39 yards. Junior Ronique Capers had two catches for 55 yards and two touchdowns, and sophomore Trey Lewis had a 65-yard scoring catch. Sophomore Ryan Whitehead also ran for a touchdown.

On defense, Hawkins had 20 tackles, and junior Thomas Inge had 19.

“Our boys hit hard and executed beautifully on offense and defense,” Kaiser said.

The Kavs (4-1) visit Virginia Episcopal School (2-0) at 2 p.m. Saturday.
