Katherine ‘Kitty’ Robertson

Katherine “Kitty” Robertson was born in Oliphant Furnace, Pennsylvania on July 6, 1930 to Clara Sanford and Robert Venney.

She was baptized and became a member of Friendship Baptist Church, Kenbridge, Virginia at an early age. She sang in the choir and was a member of the Sunday School.

Kitty was a graduate of Lunenburg County Public Schools. After graduation she met and married Bob Sam Harrison and moved to Richmond, Virginia. Sam preceded her in death.

Later, Kitty moved to Washington, DC and worked as a receptionist until she retired. She met and married Earl Robertson.

Once retired, Kitty moved back to the Sanford Estate where she joined Cedar Creek Baptist Church. Kitty was a deaconess, a member of the Missionary Ministry, and Sunday School Secretary. She remained an active member until her passing.

Kitty loved the Lord and her favorite scripture was Psalm 91. She enjoyed her word puzzles and daily devotions. She also enjoyed daily chats with Elizabeth Tisdale, Jennie Bagley and Alease Hazelwood.

Her husband Earl preceded her in death along with her parents Robert and Clara Venney.

On Saturday December 28, 2019, Katherine “Kitty” Robertson departed this life for her eternal life.

Kitty leaves to cherish her memory: Her Sister’s Doris (George) Brewton, Rose Yvonne Hite, her Brother Henry (Deborah) Rollins, two grandchildren; Kysie Robertson and Dion Robertson, three God-children; Antonia Jenae Ochieng, Steirra Reid and Steven Reid, Jr., an adopted daughter Michelle Smith and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and relatives. She also leaves her beloved cat Hope.

Funeral services were held Friday, January 3, 1 p.m. at Cedar Creek Baptist Church with the Rev. Darrell K. Jones, officiating. Interment was at Rosebud Baptist Church Cemetery, Dundas.
