We all know that God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love and of a sound mind.

But even with that knowledge, sometimes we are afraid.

The coronavirus has been labelled a pandemic. It has spread throughout the world. Because of this, many of us are afraid and living in fear.

We are not sure if we will be infected, or if our loved ones will be infected. We are not sure how long this will last, and we are unsure how bills will be paid if we are not allowed to work. My grandkids work in various fields and every day that they leave the house, I worry, not just for them, but for all the workers that are putting their health and safety in jeopardy to ensure others are safe.

I no longer leave the house, not even for church. But here’s the good news: God is still in control.

There are so many people out there doing great things for others during this crisis. We are seeing people at their best right now. Regular people are going out and making sure the homeless are eating. They are setting up hand sanitizer stations. I saw a picture where one person put a bunch of supplies in front of their house with a sign that said “Take what you need.” Even during this pandemic I find comfort in knowing that God is still in the blessing business.

Psalm 91:1-16: “He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of the Lord, “He is my refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust.”…He will cover you with his feathers, and under his wings you will find refuge; his faithfulness will be your shield and rampart. You will not fear the terror of night, nor the arrow that flies by day, nor the pestilence that stalks in the darkness, nor the plague that destroys at midday. A thousand may fall at your side, 10,000 at your right hand, but it will not come near you…For he will command his angels concerning you, to guard you in all your ways…“Because he loves me,” says the Lord, “I will rescue him; I will protect him, for he acknowledges my name. He will call upon me, and I will answer him; I will be with him in trouble, I will deliver him and honor him…”
