The valedictorian and salutatorian are the graduates with the highest and second highest grade point averages in the senior class.

VALEDICTORIAN

Entering school, Savanna Fowler had no idea she would become the valedictorian of her graduating class. While in high school she played volleyball, basketball and softball for four years and threw shot put and discus for two years. She also participated as a member of the scholastic bowl team. Fowler was given the advice to put herself into everything, so her freshman year she took that literally, joining Fellowship of Christian Athletes, Ruri-teens, Tri-Hi-Y, Future Business Leaders of America, Kindness Matters, Student Council Association, National Honor Society, National Society of High School Scholars and Model General Assembly. She also applied and was accepted into the Governor’s School of Southside Virginia her junior year. There, she took classes every morning for two years and graduated high school with an associates degree.
