Rites held for Cornelius Aubrey ‘Bud’ Arvin

Cornelius Aubrey “Bud” Arvin, 84, of Victoria, Va. died March 27, 2016. He was preceded in death by his wife, Kazuko M. Arvin and his son, Cornelius Aubrey “Nick” Arvin, Jr. He is survived by his daughter, Deborah A. Smith (Jerry); two grandchildren, Alex Arvin Smith and Ryan Arvin Smith (Tracy); great- granddaughter, Lanie Arvin Smith; sister, Frances A. Smith and devoted friend, Katherine Robbins. Bud, was a prisoner of war, he served his country in the U.S. Army and received numerous medals including World War II occupation medal of Japan, Korean War Service medal with five bronze stars, a presidential unit citation, United Nations Korean Service Medal, good conduct medal for honor, fidelity and courage. He was a member of VFW Post 9954, American Legion Post 147, The Eisenhower Commission and Northside Gospel Church. Bud retired from Bottled Gas Corporation of Virginia and taught numerous classes on gas technology. Funeral services were held Saturday April 2, 2016 at the Victoria Christian Church at 2:00 p.m  Interment in the Lakeview Cemetery, Victoria, Va. 23974 In lieu of flowers please consider memorial donations to Lunenburg Health Services, P.O.
