Following a recent bridge safety inspection by The Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT), the bridge over the Nottoway River on Brunswick Road (Route 46) between Cedar Creek Road (Route 615) and Jonesboro Church Road (Route 645) has been closed until further notice. 

According to a release from VDOT, the bridge is scheduled to undergo a project to replace the superstructure starting this summer.

The following detour route will be in place:

 Brunswick Road (Rt. 46) north–Turn left to Kenbridge Rd. (Rt. 40), turn left to Sliding Hill Rd. (Rt. 137), turn left back to Brunswick Rd. (Rt. 46)

 Brunswick Road (Rt. 46) South – Turn right onto Sliding Hill Rd. (Rt. 137), turn right onto Kenbridge Rd. (Rt. 40) turn right back onto Brunswick Rd. (Rt. 46)
