The Lunenburg County Board of Supervisors will hold public hearings at its June meeting on two projects that require conditional use permits.
Dominion Virginia Power hopes to locate an electric transmission substation on property located near 12567 Courthouse Road in Victoria. The property is currently owned by Bobby and Jeanette Shelton.
Meanwhile, the county is looking to locate a permanent trash disposal convenience center on property on the east side of Oral Oaks Road, north of Red Level Lane. The approximately 3.5 acres is part of the existing parcel of 30 acres.
The property is owned by Devin Logging, which has given permission for the project.
The public hearings will be part of the board’s regularly scheduled Thursday, June 9, meeting. The meeting starts at 6 p.m. and is held in the second-floor courtroom.
Meanwhile, the supervisors will hold a joint hearing with the Virginia Department of Transportation.
The hearing is to receive comments on the proposed six-year plan for fiscal years 2016-17 through 2021-22 for the county, and on the Secondary System Construction Program budget for fiscal year 2016-17.
Copies of the proposed plan and budget can be reviewed at the county administrator’s office and online.
All projects in the Secondary Six-Year Plan that are eligible for federal funds will be included in the Statewide Transportation Improvement Program (STIP), which documents how Virginia will obligate federal transportation funds.
