Rites held for Magdeline Lambert Woods

On our heavenly father’s chosen day, December 28, 1949, Magdeline Lambert Woods was born to the late Henry and Louise Washington Lambert.
Magdeline was educated in the Brunswick County School System. On confession of her faith, she accepted Christ and joined The Cornerstone of Deliverance through baptism on September 16, 2015 under the leadership of Bishop James E. Shelton. She faithfully attended Sunday school, served as an usher and song with the Gospel Chorus.
Magdeline “Dooley” was known for keeping her grandkids straight and just being around her great grandbabies. She cooked the best potato salad, loved playing the numbers and wanting to know everything about everybody.
On Thursday, July 14, 2016, Magdeline Lambert Woods finished her earthly works and guietly slipped into eternal rest at MCV Medical Center with family all around her. She was preceded in death by her parents, Henry and Louise Lambert; her husband, James Woods, son, Ray Lambert, grandson Jamal Williams; three sister, Gladys Burns, Elaine Jennings, and Mary Chapman; and one brother, George Lambert.
She leaves to cherish her memories, three daughters: Leslie (Larry) of Kenbridge, VA, Vanessa (Al) of Blackstone, VA, and Regina Jones of Victoria, VA, 16 grandkids, Stanley, Adrele, DeAngelo, Standrekas, Dontaris, Kana, Myeisha, Vonteria, Dwzale, Trent, Trinity, Lairoy, Daivon, Elijah, Larry Jrl, and ShaQuille; 7 great-grandkids, DeShawna, Tamia, DeMirah, and Xavier whom she loved dearly; she has always called Laurie Ragsdale her granddaughter; 6 sisters, Fannie, Channie, Nannie, Florinbe, Gloria, and Rosa; four 4 brothers, Freeman, Melvin, Henry and David, 2 brothers-in-law, Willie Chapman, and Ruseel Maclin, one sister-in-law, Geraldine Lambert; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends; one special loving and devoted friend, Patricia NeSmith and her companion Douglas Rogers.
A funeral service was held on Thursday July 21, 2016 at Cornerstone of Deliverance Kenbridge, VA. Bishop James E. Shelton, Pastor.
