A rash of vehicle break-ins continues to plague Victoria, Police Chief Keith Phillips said.
Phillips continues to encourage people to take precautions such as locking their car doors.
“It’s a crime of opportunity,” he said.
Phillips recently said all the vehicles that have been broken into were unlocked.
The subjects doing the break-ins are taking money and valuables, he said.
Among the items recently stolen is a .22-caliber revolver.
“That’s the only weapon that we know of,” Phillips said.
Meanwhile, Phillips said his department is responding.
“We are definitely upping our patrols and changing our patrolling techniques,” he said. “Please report if you see anything.”
