A 56-year-old Meherrin woman is charged after police say she broke into a home on Patrick Henry Highway in Green Bay.

Debbie Jarrett is charged with breaking and entering, grand larceny, grand larceny and destruction of property.

According to a press release from the Prince Edward County Sheriff’s Office, the break-in was reported Sunday.

“Upon deputies arriving on scene, they noticed a pickup truck stuck in the side yard of the residence,” officials said in the release. “The homeowner was able to identify items in the truck that had come from his residence.”

Investigator Sarah Coen responded, officials said, “and throughout the investigation was able to determine that … Jarrett … had been the driver of the pickup truck.”

Officials say Jarrett was taken into custody “without incident.”

Jarrett has a court hearing set in Prince Edward General District Court at 1 p.m. Nov. 14.

Those with more information on the incident should contact Coen at the sheriff’s office at (434) 392-8101.
