Rites held for Audrey Shields Smith

Audrey Shields Smith, 84, of Kenbridge, joined her family in Heaven on Feb. 22, 2017.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Eugene Sinton “Smitty” Smith; parents, Charlie Thomas Shields and Mary Overby Shields; and her brother, Claiborne J. Shields.

She is survived by two nieces; Gayle Grant and Kathy Barnhill; three great-nieces, Ashley Grant, Lynn Cleaton and Cynthia Peebles; great-great niece, Jordan Cleaton and great-great nephews, Chase Cleaton and Aiden Grant; sister-in-law, Dorothy Shields; devoted caretakers, Gracie Hawthorne, Rachel Jackson, Ida Matthews, Katie Hubbard and Theresa Walker.

Audrey was a faithful member of Antioch United Methodist Church.

Funeral services were held Friday, Feb. 24, 2017 at 2 p.m. in the Clarke Funeral Home in Kenbridge. Burial at Antioch United Methodist Church Cemetery, 3211 South Hill Road, Kenbridge.
