Senior forward/guard Dominique Turman-Watson gave Central High School’s varsity girls basketball team representation on the 2016-17 All-Conference 42 first team as coaches voted for her to receive the honor.

This is the first time Turman-Watson has received such recognition among the top players on the conference.

Lady Chargers Head Coach Scott Wilson said he was “very pleased, very happy for her being named to the (all-conference first team). She’s a very coachable player, a great teammate, very unselfish player. In addition, on the court, she provided the emotional stability — never got too high, never got too low — and just provided that double-double every night. I couldn’t ask for more out of a player.”

Playing in all 20 of Central’s games this season, Turman-Watson averaged 11 points and 11 rebounds per contest and caused further problems for opposing offenses by averaging 3.2 steals.

She logged four years of varsity experience. Wilson said that in Turman-Watson’s freshman year, he pulled her up from the junior varsity squad for the postseason. She played for him as a sophomore, then moved and played in New York as a junior before moving back to the area this season.
