The H.A. Carrington Chapter 1055 of the United Daughters of the Confederacy held an awards ceremony honoring veterans recently, all of whom had a Confederate ancestor. The event was held at Hebron United Methodist Church in Saxe, where approximately 70 members of the community witnessed the presentation of Crosses of Military Service, a National Defense Medal and Expeditionary Medal, all with certificates of appreciation. Pictured are, from left, front row, Darlene Foster, Grace Elliott, Patt Graves, second row, Timothy R. Adams, Shirley M. Vaughan and Kenneth M. Townsend, back row, Ronnie Newcomb, Richard M. Ellett, Cecil B. Rickmond, Michael R. Wiles, Thomas S. Goff and Aubrey C. Foster.  We thank the veterans for their service to our nation.
