JUNE 14-16

YOUTH REVIVAL, at New Gilfield RZUA Church. Special recognition of the youth nightly. Guest youth messengers, youth choirs and youth praise dancers nightly will appear.

ANNUAL REVIVAL, 7 p.m. at Unity Baptist Church, Kenbridge. The Rev. David Banks will be the preacher. All are welcome.

JUNE 15

MONTHLY MEETING, 7 p.m. of the VFW Post 9954 Auxiliary. All members are encouraged to attend.

JUNE 16-18

CLOVER CAMP, at Holiday Lake 4-H Educational Center in Appomattox, will be held June 16-18. Cloverbud Camp is designed to introduce children ages 5-8 to the 4-H camping experience. A trained volunteer leader will be present for every five campers. Cost is $97 per camper. This covers all programming fees, meals and lodging. ANNUAL COMMUNITY DAY, sponsored by Gethsemane Holy Church, 10th Street and Tidewater Avenue in Victoria. Something for everyone including clothing, shoes and household items. Come out and enjoy the games and fun. Food will be served. Everything is free.

ANNUAL FAMILY AND FRIENDS DAY, 4 p.m. at Mayflower Baptist Church, Kenbridge.

JUNE 18

DEACON AND TRUSTEE DAY, 10 a.m. at Mt. Bethel Church, 102 Aiken Road, Kenbridge. Events scheduled include blood sugar and blood pressure checks, healthy diet literature and classes, low impact exercises, sign ups for Men’s Work Auction, NAACP membership drive and voter registration. The Men’s Ministry will also begin a coat drive. Please donate new or gently used coats. Coats will be distributed in September. Refreshments will be available. The public is invited.

REVIVAL SERVICES, 10 a.m. at Salem Christian Church, 4698 Fort Mitchell Dr., Chase City. Music will be provided by First Go ‘Round and the speaker will be Matthew Hood. Lunch will follow. Everyone is welcome.

MEN AND FATHER’S DAY SERVICE, 11 a.m. at Springfield Baptist Church, 1784 Springfield Road, Meherrin. There will be short presentations from various generations of men in the church. The community is welcome to join them on this special occasion. The Rev. Dr. Theodore Brown is pastor.

HOMECOMING, 2 p.m. at Mayflower Baptist Church, 3620 Sneads Store Road, Kenbridge. The Rev. James Isacc of St. Luke Baptist Church, South Hill, will be the speaker.

REVIVAL, 7:30 p.m. at Mayflower Baptist Church, 3620 Sneads Store Road, Kenbridge. The Rev. Travis Hawkins of Zion Hill Baptist Church, of Victoria, will be the speaker of the week.

JUNE 20

SONS OF CONFEDERATE VETERANS TO MEET, 6:30 p.m. The Charlotte County Grays 1964 will meet at Sheldon’s Restaurant in Keysville. The meeting will begin with a Dutch treat meal followed by a short business meeting and a program. Jim Lillard will be the guest speaker and his program will on period music and period pictures. MEETING, 5 p.m. of the Friends of the Victoria Public Library. Dues will be collected from new and continuing members for the 2017-18 fiscal year. Dues must be paid by this meeting to be eligible to vote in elections next month. For more information, visit www.fovpl.org.

A TASTE-A-STATE, 3 p.m. at the People’s Community Center, 1021 Tidewater Ave., Victoria for an afternoon of fun, food and fellowship. A Taste-A-State event will feature facts, local entertainment and great food from around the country. Sponsored by Mayflower Baptist Church. LUNENBURG COUNTY HISTORICAL SOCIETY MEETING, 2 p.m. in the historic courtroom at Lunenburg courthouse. Program and book-signing by Connie Lapallo, popular speaker and author of the final book in her Jamestown trilogy. Public is invited.

JULY 3-7

LUNENBURG 4-H CAMP WEEK, at Holiday Lake 4-H Educational Center in Appomattox. This camp is geared for all youth ages 9 – 13 (as of September 30, 2017). The total cost per child will be $195 which includes overnight lodging, meals, insurance, counselor and adult supervision, classes, program costs, camp tee shirt, and transportation to and from camp. Campers have the opportunity to participate in exciting classes, with many options to choose from: scuba, canoeing, riflery, archery, swimming and horsemanship, just to name a few. There are also swimming and recreation times, special evening events, songs, games and much more.
