Police seek clues in death

Authorities are seeking clues regarding the death of a man in Kenbridge.
Calvin Jones, of Lunenburg, was found June 30 at approximately 7 a.m. on Route 138 by a school bus driver. Jones was found on the side of the road before taken to a Richmond hospital.
The driver notified Kenbridge Police Department, Chief Raymond Hite confirmed.
Jones was seriously injured and was transported to the Medical College of Virginia (MCV) Hospital in Richmond, according to Hite. He died the following Sunday.
Hite said the police department is awaiting results from an autopsy that took place Wednesday.
He said it typically takes a few weeks before the full report is available.
He said information regarding Jones’ injuries was not available and the cause of death remains under investigation.
