AUGUST 5

BAKE SALE, 8 a.m. at Salem Christian Church, Fort Mitchell. There will be sausage/ham biscuits, pies, cakes and much more.

ANNUAL PROGRAM, 2 p.m. sponsored by The Friendship Baptist Church Deaconess Ministry of Kenbridge, entitled, “The Fruits of the Spirit.” There will be various individuals speaking on the nine Fruits of the Spirit. The service is rendered in loving memory of Deaconess Adella Tisdale. The public is invited to attend an afternoon of spiritual fellowship.

RUMMAGE SALE, 8 a.m. at 512 S. Broad St., Kenbridge at the Episcopal Church of St. Paul & St. Andrew, Kenbridge.

AUGUST 6

HOMECOMING, noon at The Oak Grove Baptist Church of Kenbridge. The Rev. Walter Love will deliver the message. Revival will follow, Aug. 8-10 with prayer and praise service beginning at 7:30 p.m. and the preached word at 8 p.m. nightly. The Rev. Wanda Wallace from Little Mt. Baptist Church, Blackstone, will be the evangelist for the week.

COMMUNITY BACK-TO-SCHOOL-WORSHIP, 4-7 p.m. at Victoria Railroad Park For the young and young at heart. There will be praise time, a message, dinner, games and fellowship. Free to the public. Rain date is Aug. 13.

74TH ALLEN FAMILY REUNION will be held at College Presbyterian Church, Hampden Sydney. Those wishing to attend the service at 11 a.m. and worship with the College Church congregation may do so. After the service, family and friends will meet in the church’s Thompson Hall for lunch, fellowship, and a business meeting at approximately 12:30 p.m. Please bring a covered dish to share.

SEVENTH CHURCH ANNIVERSARY, 3 p.m. of Faith Worship Center, at Peoples Community Center, 1021 Mecklenburg Ave., Victoria. Guest speaker will be Apostle Trina Stephenson, Women of God Ministries, of Silver Springs, Maryland. Dinner will be served.

HOMECOMING, 11 a.m. at New Galilee Baptist Church. The Rev. Violet Oliver will deliver the message along with the First Baptist Choir and church family.

REVIVAL/HOMECOMING, 11 a.m. at Oakland Christian Church, 3637 Brickland Road. The Gloryland Quartet will be performing. Dinner on the grounds.

SERVICES, 11 a.m. every first and third Sunday of the month for New Redeemed Tabernacle at the Apex Community Center, 275 George Washington, Highway, Charlotte Court House.

FAMILY REUNION, 12:30 p.m. of the Wallace/Overton/Ashworth families with a covered dish meal at the VFW Hall, Victoria.

CHOIR ANNIVERSARY, 3 p.m. at Gill Hill Baptist Church, 1427 County Line Road, Keysville. There will be many groups appearing on the program. Everyone is welcome.

HOMECOMING SERVICE, 11 a.m. at New Galilee Baptist Church. Guest pastor will be the Rev. Violet Oliver along with her choir, ushers and church family. Everyone is welcome. Dinner will be served.

COME JOIN THE FUN, 6-7 p.m. each Tuesday in July at the Victoria Public Library to learn more about healthy recipes, smart size portions, discovering cooking skills and how to prepare easy, low-cost meals. Get time- and money-saving tips and receive free kitchen tools. This event is sponsored by The Family Nutrition Program of Virginia Cooperative Extension.

ANNUAL LISTINGS, The Lunenburg Rotary Club is collecting annual listings for the Kenbridge and Victoria Community Calendars. CLASS REUNION, 6 p.m. of the Nottoway Senior High Class of 1977. Cocktails and dinner will be held at the Blackstone Herb Cottage. Cost is $35. Members may also attend the Nottoway High School home football game against Buckingham on Sept. 22.
