Volunteers help prepare our youth

Students who returned to the halls of their respective schools across Lunenburg County on Tuesday have started their school year better prepared because of the free Community Back-to-School Worship event at Victoria Railroad Park held recently, which drew more participation in its second year from churches around the county. JoAnne Baldwin, of Victoria Christian Church, helped plan the inaugural edition of the event last year, and noted it was born out of a desire to create something for the youth of the community, “to let them know that we support them.” Alissa Baldwin, left, and her mother, JoAnne, helped plan the event. We commend the two along with the other volunteers and those who donated school supplies to help our youth. (Send us a “Pic Me Up” with names and information to PicMeUp@KVDispatch.com)
