On Aug. 13, Oakland Christian Church held its annual blessing service for teachers and students to prepare for the new school year.

According to a press release, the Sunday was special with Mrs. Marjorie Powers in attendance. “At 101 years old, the retired teacher has been a positive influence in the classroom and in the community,” according to the release.
