Members of William Taylor Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution are encouraging students at Southside Virginia Community College to join in commemorating the signing of the Constitution of the United States of America through Saturday. According to a press release from the organization, the U.S. Constitution stands “as a testament to the tenacity of Americans throughout history to maintain their liberties, freedoms and inalienable rights. This celebration of the Constitution was started by the Daughters of the American Revolution.” Pictured are, from left, Louise Ogburn, of South Hill, Christie Hales, of Lawrenceville, Mary Jane Elkins, of South Hill, and Nancy Turner, of Kenbridge.
