MEETING, 6 p.m. of the Lunenburg County Public Library System, Inc. Board of Trustees at the Victoria Public Library. This meeting is open to the public.

SEPTEMBER 23

CLASS REUNION, 6 p.m. of the Nottoway Senior High Class of 1977. Cocktails and dinner will be held at the Blackstone Herb Cottage. Cost is $35. Members may also attend the Nottoway High School home football game against Buckingham on Friday. SERVICES AT CEDAR CREEK BAPTIST, 11 a.m. The preacher will be the Rev. Bryant A. Walker of Second Baptist Church, Chester. Sunday school starts at 10 a.m. The church is located at 2104 Jonesboro Road, Kenbridge.

HOMECOMING, 11 a.m. at Union Grove Baptist Church, 2006 County Line Road, Keysville. A musical program featuring The Powell Family Singers to perform with lunch following at noon. All are invited.

OLD FASHIONED OUTDOOR GOSPEL SING, 6 p.m. sponsored by Lake Gaston Christian Life Centre at the Brush Arbor Pavilion on the church grounds. The church is located at 1411 Robinson Ferry Road in Ebony.

MISSIONARY ANNIVERSARY, 11 a.m. at Mt. Bethel Baptist Church. Special guest preacher will be the Rev. Thomas Watson, associate pastor of Mt. Calvary Baptist Church, Crewe. Everyone is welcome.

HURRICANE DISASTER DONATIONS NEEDED. A trailer will be parked in front of Captain’s Choice Restaurant, 513 Main St., Kenbridge and will be loaded at 9 a.m. Needed supplies consist of water, canned foods, baby pampers, flash lights, batteries, bedding, cleaning supplies and work gloves.

BOSTON BUTT SALE, to benefit VFW Post 9954. Butts are to be picked up between 3:30-4 p.m. and have to be pre-ordered by calling (434) 321-3325.

OCTOBER 7

OPPORTUNITY FUND SKEET CLASSIC, 8 a.m. at the Holiday Lake 4-H Educational Center in Appomattox for graduating high school seniors in Southside Electric Cooperative’s (SEC) service area. In just two years, 30 $1,000 scholarships have been given to students headed to college or a trade/technical school whose parents or guardians are served by SEC. The individual registration fee for the skeet shoot is $75, while squads of five can sign up for $325. All participants must provide their own guns and ammunition and skeet shooters of all levels are welcome. The event is limited to the first 50 participants, who must register in advance. The deadline to sign up is Tuesday. Sponsorship and donation opportunities are available for businesses and individuals who’d like to support this event. Sponsor returns include having a squad in the event, banners, signage and recognition in the event program.
