No. 2 Riverheads tops No. 3 Central 6-0 in regional semis

The third-seeded Central High School varsity softball team lost 6-0 to No. 2 Riverheads High School in the Region 1B tournament semifinals Thursday evening.

“We played well defensively but only had two hits in the game,” Lady Chargers Head Coach Karen McGrath said. “We did get on with a few errors by Riverheads but could not move our runners to score.”

The Lady Gladiators recorded 11 hits for the game.

Central finished the year with an overall record of 9-10.

See next week’s edition of The Dispatch for more information on this game and the Lady Chargers’ 2019 season.
